Here I Belong
Written by Matt Hartley

“Here I Belong” takes us from 1953 to the present day in a moving, charming play of village life, memories and the desire to grow old in your own home.
Cobham Players is the first amateur company anywhere in the UK permitted to perform this new play, first performed in October 2016 by the Pentabus Rural Theatre Company.
The setting is the village hall in fictional Woodside, where Elsie has lived for sixty years. It is a rural community in a changing world. With Elsie and those close to her, we re-live its key moments: from a Queen’s coronation, to elections, wars and new town developments. The village is where her daughter grew up, it’s where her husband died and it’s where she longs to stay.
This warm, poignant and witty play promises to be a lovely experience for all and, as a bonus, a premiere in our 70th year!
Seating is unallocated at tables (ie. first come, first served) for this show in the New Hall at the Village Hall at Cobham.
So come and have a great evening out and support your local drama group at the same time.
