News: TESS The Musical Duet receives first Public Performance

DUET FROM NEW MUSICAL WINS FIRST PUBLIC PERFORMANCE

A DUET from the new British musical TESS is to get a concert performance in a special cabaret night in London.

The song One Look of Love, which is featured on the soon-to-be-released studio cast album of the show in a rendition by Siobhan Dillon and Simon Bailey, will be performed at a showcase at The Pheasantry in King’s Road, Chelsea, on Sunday, December 3.

The concert, staged under the Snappy Title banner by the New Musicals Network, puts the spotlight on new and developing work. The TESS duet comes from Act One of the musical, when the heroine and Angel Clare lay eyes on each other for the first time since meeting briefly at a May Day dance.

Written by Michael Blore and Michael Davies, the musical adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s classic Tess of the d’Urbervilles is about to be released to the public on the show’s website www.tessthemusical.com as part of a drive to get the show fully staged. Followers and fans can sign up to join #TeamTess and be given free access to listen to the whole musical in the next few weeks.

Composer Blore said: “It’s wonderful that One Look of Love has been selected for the latest Snappy Titles showcase. New Musicals Network has a fantastic track record in supporting developing writers and their work, and we are thrilled that TESS can be part of that.”

The concert will be at The Pheasantry, King’s Road, Chelsea, starting at 8pm (doors open at 6pm to give plenty of time for food). Tickets are £15 and can be ordered from the Pizza Express Live website at www.pizzaexpresslive.com/whats-on/snappy-title-no-time-like-the-present
